How to choose feed efficiency?

There are two major sources of fish food: one is natural food, and the other is artificial feed that is artificially produced according to the nutritional needs of fish. In the current large-scale farming conditions, artificial compound feed has become an important source of nutrients needed for growing fish. In the face of the current wide variety of artificial compound feeds, how to select feedstuffs and adopt scientific feeding methods to obtain the best economic benefits are issues that each farmer cares about. Now we will discuss some issues related to the use of feed in aquaculture. Views for your reference.

First, the relationship between culture costs and prices. Feed costs account for an average of 40% to 50% of the total, and as high as 65%. Therefore, it is very important for farmers to obtain better economic benefits and reduce feed costs. Some people think that feed prices are low, investment is low, and costs are low. This is especially true in economically underdeveloped regions. However, the actual results are not so. Please see the following formula:

Unit Fish Yield Feed Cost = Feed Rate Feed Price

It can be seen that the feed cost per unit of fish production is determined by the bait factor and the feed price, and there are two options when selecting the feed: A higher bait coefficient, but the feed price is lower; B bait coefficient is low, but the price Higher.

Second, the relationship between feed quality and growth rate. Assuming a baiting rate of 4%, consider a pond with 1000 kg of fish as an example to feed the feeds of A and B above.

A feed bait coefficient of 1.85, then the daily gain (10004%) / 1.85 = 21.62 kg.

If the feed bait coefficient is 1.25, the daily gain is (10004%)/1.25=32 kg.

The same growth for 100 days, A feed fish 2162 kg, B feed can produce 3200 kg of fish, more than A feed 1038 kg of fish. With the same increase of 2162 kg, A feed needs 100 days, then B feed only needs 67.6 days (2162 kg 32 kg/day), which is 32.4 days less than feed A.

That is, in the same period of time (100 days), B feed was 1038 kg longer than A feed. At the same weight gain, B feed can save 32.4% of the time compared to A feed.

Third, feeding amount and feeding method

1. Feeding amount. According to the species stocking size, quantity, planned growth factor of the fish eaten, and the bait factor.

Namely: Feeding amount = stocking weight increase multiple feed coefficient

From this, the total amount of food needed for the whole year can be calculated, so that the annual feed plan and funds needed can be arranged to avoid shortfalls in funds and feed, and preparations can be made sooner. Generally, the peak of growth is 7, 8, and 3 months. The amount of feeding accounts for 65% of the whole growth process. During this time, it seizes the opportunity to provide enough food to ensure the normal growth of the fish.

2. Daily feeding amount. Calculated according to the planned feeding amount and the proportion of each month, it can also be calculated according to the fish's increasing body weight of 1% to 5%, and the monthly average feeding amount is obtained. Generally, the average amount is the mid-term, and it is less in the early days. It will be more late in the day.

3. Date and time of feeding. Summer fry, the water temperature is higher, the individual is smaller, the number of daily feeding should not be less than 5 to 6 times, from July to September, the fish eat the most prosperous, the number of daily feeding should be 4 to 5 times. After October, as the water temperature decreases, the number of feedings gradually decreases until the fish no longer feed. Each feeding time is not less than 20 minutes, in order to ensure that the fish eat 80% full without waste on the principle.

4. Feeding principles and methods. Balance, foot, and good are the general principles. Evenly, according to the requirements of the fish, feed it evenly every day. This will not only prevent diseases and ensure normal growth, but also increase the efficiency of the use of baits. The sufficient amount of feed is to meet the needs of fish. Well, it is the bait. Excellent quality, nutrition, palatable, fresh and so on.

Timing, quantification, and positioning are the basic methods of feeding. At the same time, the frequency and quantity of feeding are determined flexibly in combination with the weather, water quality, fish eating, and activities.

In summary, aquaculture needs good economic benefits, and the use of feed depends mainly on quality, not on price (of course, better quality and cheaper prices). In the case of superior capital and growing conditions, farmers should use high-quality feed and adopt scientific feeding methods.

Hormone:

A chemical substance produced in the body that controls and regulates the activity of certain cells or organs. Many hormones are secreted by special glands, such as thyroid hormone produced by the thyroid gland. Hormones are essential for every activity of life, including the processes of digestion, metabolism, growth, reproduction, and mood control. Many hormones, such as neurotransmitters, are active in more than one physical process.

Endocrine:

Pertaining to hormones and the glands that make and secrete them into the bloodstream through which they travel to affect distant organs. The endocrine sites include the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, pineal gland, thyroid, parathyroids, heart (which makes atrial-natriuretic peptide), the stomach and intestines, islets of Langerhans in the pancreas, the adrenal glands, the kidney (which makes renin, erythropoietin, and calcitriol), fat cells (which make leptin). the testes, the ovarian follicle (estrogens) and the corpus luteum in the ovary). Endocrine is as opposed to exocrine. (The exocrine glands include the salivary glands, sweat glands and glands within the gastrointestinal tract.)
