Taiwan’s National People's Initiative Launches Boycott of Dingxin Group and Weiquan Company Food Action

Again and again, the products of the Top New Group and Weiquan Company, two well-known food companies in Taiwan that have been exposed to food safety problems, are being widely resisted by the public.

In addition to netizens launching nationwide boycotts and rumors of the “Dingxin Group Product Lazy Bag,” the Taipei City Board of Education issued a statement on the evening of the 10th that, given that Dingxin Group includes Weiquan, frequent food safety violations have occurred. It made people feel that the company did not have integrity and questioned its quality management capabilities. Lin Shuhua, the director of the Taipei City Department of Education, has announced that all primary schools in Taipei will temporarily suspend the supply of whole milk products.

Lin Tengyu, director of the New Taipei City Department of Education, said today that all levels of schools in New Taipei City will stop selling and stop the use of Dingxin Group, including Weiquan Company's food products, until the Dingxin Group makes a reasonable explanation to the society.

The Taichung City Government issued a statement on the evening of the 10th, calling on all citizens to boycott all Dingxin Group products and start from the campus.

Cai Bingkun, deputy mayor of Taichung City, said that after the deliberation, the Taichung City Government decided to appeal to all citizens to start a full boycott of Dingxin Group’s products including Weiwei Company’s products. The municipal government has ordered schools within the jurisdiction to include kindergartens to stop purchasing related products. .

The Taiwan Federation of Teachers Unions today appealed to the public to boycott all products of the Dingxin Group, including the entire company. Primary and secondary schools did not use them at all.
