Feeding and management points for meat duck brooding

1. Drinking water and eating: In order to cultivate young ducks, we must master the principle of “drinking water early, eating early, drinking water first, and eating after lunch”. After drinking water first, it is beneficial to gastro-intestinal disinfection of young ducks and reduce intestinal diseases.

The method is to put a piece of plastic film on the ground, sprinkle some boiled water or one ten-thousandth of oxytetracycline aqueous solution, so that the ducklings can freely drink water. According to needs, potassium permanganate can be intermittently added in fresh water (make drinking water pink).

2-3 hours after drinking water for the first time. When the food is eaten, mix the food with water and sprinkle it on the plastic film to allow it to be eaten. Sprinkle and sprinkle with salt and guide the duck to find food. Ducklings standing on the sidelines or unable to feed should be fed separately. Eat fewer meals, gradually transition to a scheduled meal, fed every 2 hours before 3rd day, twice at night, gradually reduced to 21 days of age three times a day.

2. To master the temperature, humidity, light, ventilation, and stocking density during the brooding period.

When temperature ducklings have emerged from the shell, the villi are short, not cold; the nervous system is not well developed, and the ability to regulate body temperature is poor; the gastrointestinal volume is small, the feed intake is small, the digestion is weak, and the heat production is small, so the temperature difference cannot be adapted. The large external environment must be artificially adjusted to create a suitable and stable temperature environment for ducklings. That is, 24 hours a day and night temperature is uniform, up and down fluctuations do not exceed 2 °C, avoid sudden changes. Generally speaking, the temperature of the duck house is 30°C when the chicks are picked up, and then falls evenly, dropping 1°C every 2 days - 3 days, until 20°C, and the temperature reaches the slaughter.

In the early stage of humidity brooding, the indoor temperature is higher and the water evaporates faster. At this time, the relative humidity is higher. If the humidity is too low, the toes will dry up and the spirit will be debilitated, affecting health and growth. Illumination of sunlight can increase the surface temperature of ducks, increase blood circulation, promote bone growth, and enhance appetite, stimulate the digestive system, contribute to metabolism; if natural light is insufficient, artificial light can be used to make up. Generally 2 days to 3 days after shelling, 24 hours of continuous light is used to make it familiar with the environment in bright light, increase the exercise, drink water and eat as soon as possible. After 3 days, the light was illuminated for 23 hours a day and dark for 1 hour until the end of the 2nd week. The darkness of 1 hour is mainly to make the ducks get used to the dark environment to prevent death and disability caused by riots in the ducks in case of power outage. Natural lighting can also be used, that is, daylight natural lighting is used after 3 days of age, and light is fed appropriately in the morning and evening. 1 week old - 2 weeks old, 15 watts - 30 watts per 20 square meters. Light bulbs should be evenly distributed, and the feed dust on the surface of the bulb should be wiped off to ensure light intensity.

The purpose of ventilation and ventilation is to eliminate the foul air in the house, exchange fresh air, and adjust the temperature and humidity in the room. Ducklings have high body temperature, fast breathing, strong metabolism, and a large amount of food and excretion. In a high temperature and humidity environment, large amounts of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gas are easily generated. If they are not discharged in time, they will seriously affect ducklings. Growth rate, reduce feed remuneration.

Under normal circumstances, the ammonia content in the commercial duck house does not exceed 15 ppm, and hydrogen sulfide does not exceed 5 ppm. According to people's feelings to determine, that is, people do not feel guilty irritability in the duck house. The method of solving the ventilation differs depending on the structure of the duck house. Open duck houses mainly rely on opening and closing doors and windows to use natural ventilation to provide ventilation. However, to solve the problem of ventilation and maintaining room temperature, it is also necessary to prevent excessive wind speeds and the formation of a draft style so that the cold air can directly strike the ducks and catch cold. In winter and spring, the outside temperature is relatively low. In order to ensure the temperature in the house, ventilating equipment can be installed for ventilation.

Feeding density Feeding density refers to the number of meat ducks raised within a certain range. The higher the density is, the more likely the dunnage is to be wet, the intake of drinking water is uneven, growth and development are slow, and the individual size is uneven. Although the density is small, although the feeding effect is good, the utilization rate of the equipment is low and the cost is high.
