As the main by-product of beer production, wheat grains account for more than 80% of by-products. However, China's treatment of wheat grains is still in an inefficient and low-tech level. The amount of wheat waste that is wasted every year is more than 10 million tons, which puts tremendous pressure on the environment. The reporter learned that the Tianjin University of Technology e-fruit new project in order to solve the environmental pollution caused by wheat grains and increase the added value of wheat grains, propose innovative solutions to develop the potential value of wheat grains in the food and water purification fields.

As a adsorbent, wheat grains are not only widely used, but also the main content is that the wheat grains contain substances which can improve the taste and increase the beneficial ion content in the water. The project team compared the modified wheat grains with the activated carbon and found that replacing the activated carbon in the existing water purifier with a modified wheat grain to make a water purifier has a low price, the filter element is environmentally friendly and the effluent is mineral water. Compared with the existing water purifiers in the market, it can also supplement the beneficial ions needed by the human body - potassium ions, sodium ions and silicate ions. After the water body was purified by the wheat water purifier, the TDS value was reduced from 120 mg/L to 15 mg/L. At the same time, the concentration of ions beneficial to the human body in water is significantly increased, which can greatly improve and improve people's energy and physical strength, regulate people's metabolism and acid-base balance in the body, and have great value for physical fitness.

In terms of food, based on the analysis of the composition of the wheat grains, the project team decided to try to use the wheat grains for food production. Wheat groats and bread are made by grinding and baking techniques. The food made from wheat grains is suitable for all kinds of people. It is not only a rare natural product, but also low in fat and high in nutrition. The project team also made several roadshows on campus, and the taste of biscuits is almost the same. Under the circumstance, more wheat gluten biscuits with higher added value such as nutrition are favored by the public. If the project team market research and release uses low-cost wheat grains, the profit of the bakery will increase by 30% and the sales volume will increase by 15%. The low-cost, high-nutrient properties of wheat grains can solve the food crisis in some mountain villages in China.

It is understood that Tianjin University of Technology e fruit new project team will also plan to build online "Internet + food" platform and offline BBA operation mode to achieve product promotion. In terms of clean water, we will strive to obtain government support and subsidies for new environmental technologies based on sewage treatment. Within two years, a water purification promotion certification platform composed of government, academic authorities, environmental protection enterprises, enterprises and teams will be established to make the technology more popular.
