Diagnostic scheme
After the sow is finished giving birth, it usually takes 10 to 60 minutes to remove the placenta. If it is more than 2-3 hours, the placenta does not stop, or the placenta is stagnant.
Diagnostic points
(1) After giving birth to sows, it is necessary to promptly check whether the umbilical cord on the tire-tires is consistent with the piglets they produce. The sow's placenta is not less than part of the placenta and should not be found.
(2) If the placenta is left in the uterus for more than 3 hours, endometritis can be caused by decomposition of toxins. The sows are disturbed, irresponsible, have reduced appetite, or are deprived of food. They like to drink water and can cause systemic symptoms. They sometimes run out of the vulva and have a foul-smelling liquid with reddish-brown color, and there is a mixture of decomposed fetal clothing fragments.
Prevention program
(1) It is necessary to scientifically and rationally raise pregnant sows, exercise properly, and favor the shrinking force of the uterus.
(2) After 2 hours of postpartum non-placement of the placenta, intramuscular injection of pituitrin or 10-20 units of oxytocin should be given. The injections are repeated 1 hour apart.
(3) Intrauterine injection of spectroscopic antibiotics can prevent decomposition of retained fetal clothing.
(4) Use anti-infective systemic therapy and symptomatic therapy, and effectively improve the efficacy.
