Breeding and breeding techniques of hybrid striped sturgeon

1. Propagation (i) Breeding habits Cross-breeding stony cocoons are fertile and typically reach maturity in 2nd-instar fish. Some 1st-instar males can reach sexual maturity when they reach 500g in weight. Breeding is generally from March to May, the water temperature is 5-20 °C. Mature mature females have large and soft abdomen. Ovary outlines are clearly visible. The gemmary hole is reddish. Digging eggs can be used to dig evenly large medium-sized eggs. A female can lay eggs from several hundred thousand to several million. Mature males gently press on the abdomen and a large amount of milky white semen flows out of the genital pores. Under captivity in ponds, the gonads of hybrid streaked fish can develop to maturity but cannot reproduce naturally in ponds.
(b) Artificial propagation generally uses methods of artificial oxytocin production and natural spawning and fertilization.
In the breeding season, broodstock with mature gonads are selected and elicited at a male to female ratio of 1:1-2. HCG is commonly used for oxytocin. The dose is 280-350 international units per kilogram of body weight for females. Chest injection, but also intramuscular injection. Immediately after the injection, the broodstock was placed in a circular spawning pool and the water speed of the spawning pool was 10 cm to 15 cm/s. The broodstock lays eggs within about 18-60 hours after the injection of HCG. After the broodstock spawns, the broodstock is removed and the fertilized eggs are incubated in the pool, and the water flow is maintained to flush the fertilized eggs to ensure that the fertilized eggs or fry are suspended in the water. At a water temperature of 18-20°C, the incubation time is about 2 days. Freshly hatched fry is transparent, about 3mm in length, and it usually takes about 5 days to start feeding.
In May 1997, the Zhujiang Fisheries Research Institute’s artificial breeding research group successfully produced hybrid striped loggerheads. It was found that their fertility was large, but the fertilization rate was low, the seedling culture rate was also low, and the fry abnormalities were numerous.
2. Seed Breeding (I) Fry Breeding Cross-hatched scorpion seedlings that have hatched for 1-2 days are more resistant to operation than 3-5-day fry, so if they are to be transported to other places for breeding, they can be laid out in eggs. After 1-2 days. Generally speaking, it is better to hatch the fish fry in the cement pond for 10 days before going down the pond. The fry begins to feed on the 5th day after hatching. During the period of raising fish in the cement pool before stocking, the freshwater bugs are best used as open feed.
(II) The area of cultivation of hybrid streaky sturgeon species for cultivation of seedlings is 1.5-3 mu (1 mu = 1/15 hectare) and the water depth is 1-m. The ponds were cleared 10-14 days before and after the fish ponds (before and after the production), and then fertilized with water, and a large amount of plankton was cultivated as a feed for fry. The stocking density is generally 2-30000 tails/mu and can also be put to 50,000 mu/mu. Generally, the complete artificial diet with a protein content of 40%-50% is started at 2-3 weeks in Xiatang.
After 35-40 days of cultivation in the pond, the fry can grow to a length of 3cm-5cm. At this time, the fry can be put out of the pond and put into a fish pond to develop commercial fish. You can also keep the fry in a pond of a variety of species to grow into larger sizes. The species of fish, but this time must be screened fry grading, in order to reduce the mutual survival of the species.
III. Adult fish culture Cross-breeding stony bream adult culturing ponds generally have a pond area of 5-10 mu and a stocking density of about 1000 fish per mu. Can be fed under the mixed fish as feed, can also be fed about 30% protein in extruded pellet feed, the daily feed amount is 4%-6% of the fish's body weight; it is worth noting that due to the hybrid striped fish Without feeding on feeds that have subsided to the bottom, artificial feeds must be buoyant or settling slowly. Daily management should pay attention to changes in water quality, keep water fresh, and keep dissolved oxygen above 4mgO2/LC. Special care should be taken when pulling the nets. The dehydration time of the fish should be short, and care must be taken in the transportation process. It cannot be transported in high density. General fish species can develop commercial fish after 6-10 months of breeding.
IV. Prevention of fish diseases Most diseases that cause damage to warm-water fishes are likely to harm cross-bred dendrobium. However, except for the death caused by hypoxia, other diseases do not have severe effects on hybrid streaks. The diseases seen by the party are infectious bacteria and protozoan parasites.
Bacterial pathogens include: Flexibacter colimnaris, Aeromonas
Spp.), Pseudomonas spp. and Vibrio spp. Pathogens of fungal diseases are mainly Saprolegnia and Ashyla.
The pathogens of protozoan diseases are mainly Chilodonella, Cryptobia, and Trichodinids.
According to different pathogens, penicillin and streptomycin combinations, oxytetracycline, sulfa drugs, anthracycline, copper sulphate, potassium permanganate, formalin, and salt can be selected for treatment. The type and dosage of drugs can be selected. Refer to general fish disease prevention books.
